Obituary of Maureen F. Scott
Maureen F. Scott, age 88, died on Monday January 23, 2012, at the Shorrock Gardens Center in Brick NJ. Mrs. Scott was born in The Clock House in North Plainfield and has spent most of her life in Plainfield and North Plainfield before moving to the Chelsea in Fanwood and then to Shorrock Gardens Center in Brick.
She was a challenger for the Somerset County Board of Elections.
Mrs. Scott was always helping people less fortunate; she was the coordinator for the North Plainfield Fish for over forty years and volunteered with the ILEX TWIG at Muhlenberg Medical Center for over twenty five years. She was also a member of the North Plainfield Women's Club for 35 years.
She was a communicant of St. Luke's Church in North Plainfield.
Mrs. Scott is predeceased by her husband John J. Scott and her daughter Nancy Greves.
She is survived by six children Mary Ann Weber; Ellen Conaghan and her husband Mike of Pt. Pleasant Beach; Michael Scott and his wife Norma of Bedminster; Jayne Goldstein and her husband Stuart of Florida; William Scott and his wife Wendy of High Bridge; Jacqueline Petras and her husband Larry of Millington. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at Higgins Home for Funerals 209 West 8th St. Plainfield NJ on Friday, January 27th at 8:30 am at Higgins Home for Funerals followed by a mass of the resurrection at 9:30 am at St. Luke's RC Church in North Plainfield. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery in Watchung NJ. The viewing will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals in Plainfield.
