Obituary of Helen M. Cogan
Helen Margaret (Phillips) Cogan, age 88, of Hawley, PA died Monday, March 19, 2012 at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle, PA.
Born June 22, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Stelios and Florence Soll Phillips and widow of the late Robert James Cogan.
She was employed as a secretary. She was a member of Happy Hookers Knitting Group of Hemlock Farms and St. John Neumann Parish in Lords Valley, PA. She was also an avid painter who was known for her ceramics.
Surviving are five sons, Kevin Cogan of Carlisle, PA, Robert Cogan of New Britain, CT, James Cogan of Kunkletown, PA, Thomas Cogan of Mountainside, NJ and John Cogan of Naperville, IL; one brother, Stanley Phillips of Yonkers, NY; one sister, Florence Malanga of Wurtsboro, NY; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Cogan.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 23, 2012 at St. Mary Stony Hill Church, Watchung, NJ. Burial will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ.
