Obituary of Hedy B. Pond
Hedy Jaskolka Pond entered eternal rest on March 24, 2012 at St. Clares Hospice in Dover, NJ.
Hedy was born in 1938 in Poland and came to the US after World War II. She lived in Woodbridge Township, graduated Woodbridge High School and attended Rutgers University and New Brunswick Business/Secretarial School.
She was employed by General Motors, which she left to have a family. After living in California, the family moved to Green Brook in 1969. Hedy retired from Macy's as an office manager in 2001. She especially enjoyed her retirement, spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards with friends and reading.
Mrs. Pond was active in the PTO which she served as president. She was also president of the Green Brook Little League Auxiliary and a member of the Booster Club. In addition, she was a member of St. Luke's Altar Rosary Society and the Green Brook Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Pond was predeceased by her husband, Charles in 1997.
She is survived by her son, Richard of Mountain Lakes, NJ and his wife, Maureen; and her daughter, Linda Pond Rindos of Chatham. She was "Boch" to her grandsons, Ryan Pond, Collin Pond, Bradley Rindos and granddaughter, Jessica Rindos. Hedy also leaves her brother, Vito Jaskolka of Edison; a niece, Stacey Craft and grandniece, Haley of Ohio.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 9 am at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by an 10 am Mass of Resurrection at St. Luke's R.C. Church in North Plainfield and entombment at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:30 - 4:30 pm and 7 - 9 pm.
