Obituary of Tonye E. Wilcox

Tonye E. Wilcox, age 25, died on Friday, March 23th, 2012, at the Harper University Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. Born in Orange, he was raised in Watchung before moving to Detroit in 2011. Tonye graduated from Valley View Middle School in Watchung and Watchung Hills Regional High School in Warren. He received his BS in Engineering from Lafayette College in Easton, PA. He was employed with Fanuc Robotics in MI. Tonye was a EMT in South Plainfield, a group leader for AmeriCorp and enjoyed volleyball, swimming, fencing and playing the drums and piano. He worked with many volunteer agencies including some in Brazil delivering aide to the poor. Surviving are his parents Ellis and Florence (Okoya) Wilcox of Watchung; brother Dapa D. Wilcox and sister Taba E. Wilcox. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 31st at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
