Obituary of Theodore James Loeffler
Theodore James Loeffler, age 93, died at Inglemoor Care Center of Livingston on April 21, 2012. Theodore J. Loeffler was born and raised in Union by his parents Theodore and Mary. He has resided in Warren, NJ for the last 9 years. His whole life was devoted to living it with his family, and that he did.
He and his wife Rita resided in Union, where they raised their four boys. Theodore J. Loeffler graduated from High School and the met the love of his life, Rita Hallinan . He was drafted into the Army in 1940 and served over seas in the 120th Infantry Regiment during WWII. When he returned he continued working for Ideal Dairy Farms in Union NJ and continued there for over 35 years until he retired in 1979. He was his son's right-hand man in his pool business for over 20 years at the Maplewood Country Club where he had many friends. He spent many winters residing in a retirement community in Stuart, FL. He loved playing golf and dancing.
Theodore J. Loeffler's wife of 60 years Rita passed on October 18th, 2004 at the age of 85. He is survived by his sister, Vera Pochopin (95). His four sons: Theodore T. Loeffler and his Wife Eva Maria of Randolph, NJ. Kevin Loeffler of Colorado. Scott Loeffler and his wife Barbara of East Hanover, NJ. Thomas R. Loeffler and his wife Camille of Green Brook, NJ. His ten grandchildren: Jennifer J. Vitulli, Theodore R. Loeffler, Jamie Loeffler, Chris Loeffler, Jaclyn Loeffler, Sean Loeffler, Andrew Loeffler, Bridget Loeffler, Danielle Loeffler, and Thomas R. Loeffler Jr. His two great-grandchildren: Dominick Vitulli and Braden Loeffler
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 7-9 at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. St. Mary's - Stony Hill Roman Catholic Church in Watchung. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Wounded Warriors Project, which helps returning soldiers. My dad was most proud of being a veteran.
