Obituary of Cyril Walton-Macaulay

Cyril Walton-Macaulay lived a full life for 71 years. He was born on June 15, 1940 to his mother, Marion Ayo Jenkins; and temporarily separated from us on April 18, 2012 at the JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey. Cyril was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone where he lived for 52 years, Raised by his grand-mother Clarise Zuaiba Macaulay during childhood and youth, he attended the Government Model School, St. Edwards Primary and Secondary Schools. After his graduation from the 5th Form, he worked for a short while at the Post Office, and made his career as a banker working for the Barclays Bank. He was Branch Manager at several branches of Barclays Bank in Freetown and in the Provinces, culminating his banking career at the post of Senior Manager. Brother Cyril was a member and Master Mason in the Lodge Harmony No. 1446, of the Grand Lodge of Scotland. The High Courts of the Republic of Sierra Leone appointed Cyril Justice of the Peace and a Commissioner of Oaths for the Republic of Sierra Leone Cyril re-located to the USA in 1992, where he became a Counselor at the Abbot House in New York, working with special needs children until retirement in December of 2005. Within a year he and his wife re-located to North Plainfield, New Jersey, where he again took up counseling part-time. He was ardent in church life and became interested in teaching and learning the word of God professionally. He obtained a certificate of course completion from Liberty University. He also obtained a certificate in Theological Studies from the New Brunswick Theological Seminary, which was sponsored by the Trinity Reformed Church. "Beside every great man, there is a great woman". Cyril became one-flesh with this woman, Nora Morgan in February of 1970. It must have been such good times, for they continued his lineage with the birth of their children, Andrea and Corrie. Cyril is survived by his wife and children; his children's' spouses, Andrew and Dana; his grand-children, Corrine, Caelyn, Alexander, and Amanda; his cousins, Thelma and Kenneth, both of whom he raised as his own children. He took much pride and great care of his family, now the Almighty God cares for him. Cyril was always pleasant, dedicated, and a man of good-will; he shared in others' joy and pain; he has cared for, consoled, laughed with, and touched many lives; if only each of us can have a fraction of his love and personality we could all make each other's lives brighter. He will be sadly missed, but we all look forward to reuniting with him in God's kingdom; this is only a time of separation. Mourning during this time of separation, are his relatives and several of his and our friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28th at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Reformed Church. Visitation will be on Friday, April27th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Saturday from 9 to 10 am.
