Obituary of Donald James Amon
Franklin Twp: Donald "Jimmy" Amon, 65, died suddenly on Friday, June 1, 2012 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington.
Born in Rahway, originally from Clark, Don resided in Warren before moving to Franklin Twp 6 years ago.
Prior to retiring 4 years ago, Don was employed as a truck salesman by Salem Truck Leasing in Brooklyn for over 30 years.
For many years, he was a member and served as vice president of the Warren Baseball/Softball Association. Don loved the outdoors, especially spending time with his family at the beach in Lavallette.
Surviving are his three sons; Vito of Washington Twp, Joseph of Franklin Twp and James of Newton, MA; a brother, Terry of Medfield, MA, a sister, Leilani Stanley of Fombell, PA and his three grandchildren, Charles, Katherine and Aiden Amon.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm with an 8 pm funeral service at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Reverend Barbara Peters will officiate. Cremation will be held privately.
