Obituary of Linda D. Hamer
Linda D. Hamer, 57, died suddenly on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville.
Born in Plainfield, she was a lifelong North Plainfield resident.
For the past 20 years, Linda was employed as a bookkeeper for Industrial Cooling Corp (ICC) in Metuchen.
She was a member of Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church in North Plainfield.
Linda enjoyed reading and volunteering time to animals in shelters. She was especially devoted to her children, especially during her son and daughter's sporting events at North Plainfield High School and her daughter's gymnastics practices and events.
Her father, James E. Dunn predeceased her in 1980.
Surviving are her husband, Karl Hamer; her son, Cole D. Hamer, USN, stationed in Great Lakes, Illinois; her daughter, Jenna A. Hamer of North Plainfield; her mother, Jeanne Carmichael of NYC and her brother, William C. Dunn of North Plainfield.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11 AM at Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church, 170 Watchung Avenue, North Plainfield. Donations in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 7 Ridgedale Ave., Suite 103, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927 or Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church, 170 Watchung Ave., No. Plainfield, NJ 07060 would be appreciated. Arrangements by Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung. Carpooling is suggested and additional parking is available at St. Joseph's Church on the corner of Jackson Ave. and Watchung Ave.
