Obituary of Harry R. Kriegel
Harry Robert Kriegel, age 85, passed away on June 11, 2012 at his home in Warren. Born in Floral Park, NY, he was raised in Queens Village before moving to Wantagh, LI for 20 years and has resided in Warren since 1971.
Harry served in the United States Army in the 11th Airborne during the Korean War.
He attended New York University and was the President and CEO of Royal Apex Manufacturing in Plainfield. He started his career there at age 14, and retired in 2007.
He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church in Warren, the Warren Township Republican Club, American Legion Post 293 and the Optimist Club. Harry was an avid offshore fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He served as an assistant Boy Scout Leader and Baseball Umpire.
Predeceased by his two sons Harry and Daniel Kriegel and his sister Lillian Fries.
Survived by his beloved wife Annabelle (Bostock) Kriegel; his son Charles Kriegel and wife Pam of Winslow, ME; his two grandchildren Charlie and Ali; his sister in-law Elsie Kavanagh; two nieces Wenda (Richard) Travers and Stephanie (Michael) Hoff; three nephews Charles (Chrissy) Kavanagh, Thomas (Kim) Kavanagh and Edmund (Brenda) Fries; grandnieces and nephews Michael, Jill, Sam, Charles, Taylor, Thomas, Shawn and Brogan; special friends Kathy and Shannon McAdams, Neville Indar and Family and Joan Phillips.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 15th from 4-7 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Everyone is invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. before proceeding to the Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY for an 11:30 graveside service.
