Obituary of Elena Sestokas

Elena Sestokas, age 91, died at her son's home in Warren on Friday, September 27, 2013. She was born and raised in Lithuania. She came to the United States in 1951 and had lived in Elizabeth and then Rahway for many years. Prior to her retirement in1984, she was a Biochemist for Merck Research in Rahway. Mrs. Sestokas was a former Communicant of St. Peter and Paul RC Church in Elizabeth. She loved spending time with her family and friends, animals and ballroom dancing. She also enjoyed classical music, ice skating, swimming and the beach. Mrs. Sestokas is predeceased by her husband, Kazys Sestokas in 1999. Surviving are her sons, Victor Sestokas and his wife, Ruta and A. Raymond Sestokas and his wife, Debbie; her grandchildren, Dana, Alex, Vincent, Andrea, Kristina, Andrew, Matthew, Benjamin and Debbie. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Alexa, Matthew and Andrew. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, October 1st at 9:30 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:30 am Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel. Interment will be at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 8 pm.
