Obituary of Josephine Mrozek

Josephine Mrozek, age 97, passed away on Tuesday July 24, 2012. Born in New York City, she resided in Roselle, Linden, Wind Gap, PA and since 1980 in Bridgewater. She graduated from Abraham Clark High School in Roselle. Prior to retiring in 1974 she was an office administrator with Anchor Motor Freight in Linden for 13 years. She also owned the Regina Shoppe, a children's clothing store in Cranford for five years. After that, she was employed part time for Hollywood Bridal Shop in Elizabeth as a bridal assistant. Josephine was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville where she served as a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was a former member of St. Theresa's Church in Linden for 38 years. She was also an active member of the Bridgewater Women's Club for over 25 years. The most important thing in her life was her family. She was an avid reader, quilter, crafter, and loved to travel. Josephine is predeceased by her husband, Frank W. Mrozek in 2005, her son, Frank in 2010; her brother, Walter Mankowski, her sister, Stella Chadwick and her granddaughter, Melissa Bampe Daszkiewicz in 2002. Surviving are her daughters; Leonore Bampe and her husband, Don of Freehold and Frances Slahta and her husband, James of Bridgewater; her sister, Olga Sajczuk of Whiting; her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Mrozek of PA, her grandchildren; Alex and Joanne Slahta, Laura Gaire and her husband, Patrick, Frank Mrozek and his wife, Cheryl, Bill Mrozek, two step-grandchildren, Michelle Sutherland and Robert Rowe; and two great-grandchildren, Heather Daszkiewicz and Annaleigh Mrozek. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Martinsville. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-7 p.m.
