Obituary of George Reid, Jr.

George D. Reid Jr. Piscataway: George D. Reid Jr., age 70, passed away on Thursday May 14, 2015 at the Mount Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Alexandria VA. Born in Plainfield, Mr. Reid had spent most of his life in the central New Jersey area, most recently in Piscataway. Mr. Reid had received his Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from the North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina. He served in the United States Army as a Lieutenant during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement he worked for R.C.C. Consultants in Woodbridge as a financial controller for over 20 years. He was an avid sports fan and love cooking with his family especially his sister Talulla. Mr. Reid is predeceased by his parents George D. Reid Sr. and Irene Williams Reid. Surviving are his daughter Niema Smith of Sandy Springs GA; a sister Talulla Reid Newsome of Springfield VA; a granddaughter N'Kai Lewis and a nephew H. Scott Johnson Jr. and his children Hugh and Hayley. A funeral service will be held on Monday May 18, 2015 at 10 am at Higgins Home for Funerals 209 West 8th St. Plainfield NJ followed by the interment at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
