Obituary of Marian Coltri Pesci
South Plainfield: Marian Coltri Pesci, age 99, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in Oregon, while visiting her daughter. Born in Raritan she had lived in Plainfield from 1944-1977 and then moved to North Plainfield where she had lived from 1977-2010 and most recently had resided in South Plainfield with her daughter.
Marian was a graduate of St. Peter's School of Nursing, where she received her RN Degree. She had worked as an RN at St. Peter's Hospital until her marriage to Raymond Pesci in 1940.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Plainfield and St. Joseph's Church in North Plainfield.
Mrs. Pesci was very active in the PTA and was a Girl Scout leader. She was also a member of the Laurel League and was part of the Muhlenberg Hospital Twigs.
She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed crocheting and especially loved to read.
She is predeceased by her parents; Sylvio and Maria Coltri, her beloved husband of over 50 years Raymond J. Pesci in 1993 and her brother, Aurelio Coltri.
Surviving are her daughters; Anne O'Brien of Naples, FL, Carolyn Pesci-Barone and her husband, Raymond of Terrebonne, OR, Joan Blomquist and her husband, Edward of South Plainfield and Maria Clare Hoey and her husband, John of North Kingstown, RI; her sister, Vera Chiara of North Plainfield; her 8 grandchildren; Jeffrey and his wife, Stacey, Jessica and her husband, Neil, Eric and his wife, Tara, Liza, Edward and his wife, Aimee, Elissa and her husband, Christopher, Claire and Michael; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield, NJ. Funeral services will begin on Thursday May 21 at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by an 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Sacred Heart Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
