Obituary of Henry Albert Thompson, Jr.

Henry A. (Joe) Thompson, Jr. 84, died on Monday, May 18, 2015, at his home in Warren, New Jersey. Born February 12th 1931, in Tarentum, PA, he lived in the Valley for most of his life and spent the last three years in Warren with his son Gregory and family. Mr. Thompson was a 1950 graduate of Tarentum High School where he played football and served as student body president. Prior to retiring Henry worked as an Auditor for Allegheny Technologies for forty-four years. Henry contributed a significant amount of time to charity with the Masons (Lodge 502) where he was a 32nd Degree. He was also a Shriner and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. In his spare time he was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his family. Surviving is his loving wife Marguerite (Roll) Thompson of 53 years of Warren; his sons Gregory (Frances) Thompson of Warren, NJ, Jeffrey (Anna) Thompson of New Providence, NJ, and Christopher (Thalia) Thompson of Norwalk, CT. Mr. Thompson is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Jarrod and Hayley Thompson of Warren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Albert Thompson, Sr. and Ethel (Schroth) Thompson and his brother James Thompson. A Memorial will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 2015 at 1:30 pm. at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel, in Warren.
