Obituary of Phyllis F. Rohling
Phyllis F. Rohling, 92, passed away peacefully at the Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Newton. She was born and raised in St. Paul, MN.
Mrs. Rohling served in the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant 1st Class during World War II. After leaving the service, she moved to New Jersey where she resided in Long Hill Township.
Prior to her retirement, she was a Registered Nurse for the VA Hospital in Lyons.
Mrs. Rohling was the President of the Watchung Hills Elks Auxiliary, a lifetime member of Long Hill Township Seniors and a Communicant of St. Vincent De Paul Church.
She is predeceased by her husband, Lawrence W. Rohling, Sr. in 1989 and her son, Lawrence "Larry" Rohling, Jr. in 2009.
Surviving are her children, Cathy Oraison, Barbara Quastad, Phyllis L. Rohling, Jean Kofel and Tom Rohling; her brother, Tom Frame; her sisters, Fern Michalski and Juanita Morgan. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 16th from 4 to 7 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ. Funeral services will begin on Monday at 9 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am funeral Mass at St. Vincent De Paul Church. Interment will be at St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery.
