Obituary of Lindwood Lacks, Sr.

Lindwood Lacks, Sr., age 56, entered eternal rest on Sunday August 23, 2015 at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ. Born in Plainfield to the late James and Mary (West) Lacks, Mr. Lacks had been a lifelong resident of Plainfield. Mr. Lacks, Sr. had served in the United States Army from 1976 to 1986 having been stationed in Germany. Prior to retiring, Mr. Lacks had worked as a forklift mechanic for the Barclay Brand in South Plainfield for 20 years. He enjoyed bowling, watching sci-fi movies and was a fan of the NY Mets. He is survived by his loving wife Betty (Davis) Lacks; three sons Lindwood Lacks, Jr. (Jillian) of West Orange, Aaron Lacks of Plainfield and Shawn Lacks of Plainfield; two daughters Sharon Lacks of Plainfield and Tiffany Lacks (James Walker) of Belle Mead; two brothers Berkeley Lacks and James Kevin Lacks; two sisters Carolyn Lacks and Barbara Moore (Norman); grandchildren Briah, Justin and Anthony Lacks, Jayden and Tyler Lacks-Walker and Ava Lacks. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and loving friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday August 29, 2015 from 11:00 am to 1 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th St. Plainfield, NJ followed by a 1 pm funeral service at the funeral home. Cremation services are private.
