Obituary of Ruth Piller

Ruth Piller Springfield: Ruth Piller, age 98, died on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at her home in Springfield. She was born in New York City and had lived in Springfield for the past 60 years. She served in the Women's Air Corps during World War II. Mrs. Piller worked in the office of Nelson Rockefeller years before he became Governor of New York. She was the Past President of Springfield B'nai Brith Women, a member of Hadassah, the National Council of Jewish Women, Temple Beth Ahm and the Chai Center for Jewish Life in Watchung. She also volunteered for many years at Overlook Hospital. Mrs. Piller is predeceased by her husband, Sidney Piller in 1999. Surviving is her son, Steven Piller and his wife, Wendy(nee Merkin) and her granddaughter, Amanda Piller. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Beth Israel Cemetery Route 1 and Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge. Arrangements are under the direction of Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung. Memorial donations may be made to the Chai Center for Jewish Life, 20 Shawnee Drive, Watchung , NJ 07069.
