Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Kassey

Mary Kassey, age 98, passed away on October 5, 2015, at the Rolling Hills Care Center, Lebanon, NJ. She was a lifelong resident of Plainfield, NJ until moving to the Chelsea Assisted Living, Belvidere, NJ in 2013. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and sewing. Mary will be missed by family and friends. Mary was a member of St. Bernard's Church and the Plainfield Senior Citizens. Mary was predeceased by her husband Michael B. Kassey, Sr. in 1999 and her daughter Barbara Petruccione in 1992. She is survived by her son Michael B. Kassey, Jr. and his wife Diane; three grandsons, John Petruccione and Thomas Petruccione and his wife Marianne and Michael W. Kassey and his wife Rebecca; four great-grandchildren Jack Petruccione, Isabella Petruccione, Thomas Petruccione and Avery Kassey. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, 368 Sumner Ave., Plainfield. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Plainfield. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Hunterdon Hospice, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822.
