Obituary of Louise Keets

Louise Dolores Keets Born on February 3, 1949, Louise Dolores Keets, of Scotch Plains, was the youngest of six children born to the late Buster and Catherine Henderson. Louise transitioned peacefully on October 17, 2015, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, North Carolina, with daughters Dawn and Heather by her side. Affectionately known as "Punkin," "Mom-Mom," "Miss Louise" and "Weezie," Louise was married to Gaylord Keets, also deceased, for 35 years. The couple had recently moved to Gastonia, North Carolina, to be closer to their children. Louise graduated from Scotch Plains Fanwood High School and worked, for most of her life as an executive assistant, at General Electric, Thomas & Betts, Celanese, Daimler Chrysler-Benz and Verbatim. A gifted seamstress, homecook and crafter, Louise also worked toward her degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She is survived by her three daughters, Dawn Donaldson; Heather Keets Wright; Teresa Byrd; sons-in-law Irvin Donaldson, Mark Wright and Frank Byrd; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and siblings Willie Mae Brown, Arthur Henderson, Ruth Nelson. She was preceded in death by daughter Shelly Keets and sisters Catherine Robinson and Elizabeth Hedgepeth. Visitation and homegoing services will be held at Rose of Sharon Community Church in Plainfield, New Jersey on Sunday, October 25, from 4-6pm and Monday, October 26, at 10:00am, respectively.
