Obituary of Jean Audrey McAleer

Warren: Jean A. (Chappell) McAleer, age 89, died on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at her home in Park Ridge, IL. Born in Buffalo, NY she had resided in Dunellen and then in Warren for 52 years before moving to Park Ridge, IL in 2009. Jean was a homemaker who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a past member of Our Lady of the Mount Church, Choir and Altar Rosary Society in Warren. Jean was involved in the American Legion Post 293 Ladies Auxiliary and the Mt. Bethel Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time Jean enjoyed roller skating, ice skating, volunteering at local hospitals and Swim Inc. and filled in as a crossing guard for the Warren Police Department. Predeceased by her husband Richard J. McAleer in 2008 and a son Richard J. McAleer, II in 1989 . Surviving are her sons, John McAleer and his wife Jann and James McAleer and his wife Lisa; her daughter Kathleen Isaacks and her husband Henry; 7 grandchildren James Jr. and Karl McAleer, Jennifer Trice,John Rychlicki, John Jr., Kristina and Andrew McAleer.She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8th, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 9th at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel, Warren.
