Obituary of Ralph Joseph Barbara

Ralph J. Barbara, age 86, died on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Berkeley Heights Nursing and Convalescent Center in Berkeley Heights. He was born and raised in Plainfield and most recently lived in Watchung. Mr. Barbara served in the United States Navy during World War II. He owned and operated his own trucking company, Jo-Mar in Watchung. Mr. Barbara loved watching baseball, especially the Yankees and NASCAR racing. He is predeceased by his wife of 57 years in 2006, Margaret Barbara. Surviving are his daughter, Joanne Barbara of Watchung; his siblings, Joseph Barbara, Santine Arrants, Louis Barbara, Robert Barbara and Nancy DeFillipo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by an 11:00 am service at the funeral home. The interment will be held at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery.
