Obituary of Dmytro Kuziw
Dmytro Kuziw of Ellenville, NY, died on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. He was 96 years old. Dmytro was born on January 17, 1919 in Chevchenkovo, Ukraine and was the son of the late Zachary and Olena (Fedorkiv) Tabaka.
Dmytro studied to become a teacher and was teaching history in Ukraine before he was drafted into the military. When he moved to the United States he met Sylvia, and on July 19, 1953 they were married. Dmytro worked as the Foreman of the Hetfield Wire and Cable Company in Linden, NJ before retireing and moving to Kerhonkson.
Dmytro is survived by Sylvia Wenke Kuziw, his loving wife of 62 years. His daughter, Kvitka Maria Koch and her husband Daniel of Fanwood, NJ and his son, Alexander Jurij Kuziw of Ellenville, NY. Grandchildren; Nicholas, Roark, Danielle, Zachary and Alexandra, and great granddaughter Lilianna. Also surviving are his sisters; Cornelia, Slawka and Ivanka.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 3rd from 3-5pm at HB Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson.The Panakhyda will begin at 4:30pm that evening. The Divine Liturgy will be Monday the 4th at 10am at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Kerhonkson. Burial will be in St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, South Boundbrook, NJ on Tuesday the 5th at 11am.
