Obituary of Albert D. Trabilsy
Albert Trabilsy Sr., WWII Veteran, Loving Husband Father and Grandfather
Albert Trabilsy Sr. was born in Plainfield, NJ on March 8, 1924. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was happily married for 63 years to his wife Gloria, who predeceased him 2 years ago.
His pride and joy were his three children Albert Jr., Carol and Jim. Throughout his life, he gave wise guidance and advice, always sacrificing his self-interest for the love and care of his children. He especially dedicated the last 34 years of his life keeping his son Jim alive and well, by giving him hemodialysis.

Al was well known in the Plainfield area. He was the co-owner of the Plainfield Lace Store from 1946 until the business closed in 1986. He can still be heard telling his employees, “The customer is always right.”
He served his country in WWII stationed in Guadalcanal and the Philippines. Al is one of the last survivors of the greatest generation. He remains one of the youngest sergeants in the history of the country reaching the rank at the age of 18.

He is survived by his loving children Al Jr., Carol, Jim and his daughter-in-law Mary Van Dina, his wonderful grandchildren Peter, Thomas, Devon, Lisa and Meredith, his four great grandchildren, Tyler, Conner, Teigan and Luke, his brother Harold as well as many nephews and nieces.
