Obituary of Griffith D. Humphrey
Griffith Douglas Humphrey, known to family and friends as Doug, of Green Brook Township, New Jersey, died peacefully surrounded by family on February 7, 2016.
Born December 28, 1962, Doug is survived by his wife, Kathleen, sons, Griffith and Patrick, father Griffith, sisters Elizabeth Ann Trovato and Linda Jean Trew and brother Thomas David.
Doug is also survived by his mother-in-law, four brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Ann.
Doug graduated from the University of Delaware. While earning his degree, Doug enjoyed playing soccer and was an avid Blue Hens fan. He went on to have an illustrious career as a computer systems architect.
Doug's biggest pride and joy was his family. He deeply enjoyed spending time with his boys doing various activities.
Doug will be remembered fondly for his tireless service to the Green Brook community. He served as a Cub Master and Den Leader to Cub Scout Pack 129. Doug volunteered with the Green Brook Little League and Watchung Hills Soccer Association. He was also a member of the Green Brook Board of Education and the school's township liaison.
The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, February 10 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, located at 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, New Jersey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 10:30am at Our Lady of the Mount Roman Catholic Church. An internment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
