Obituary of Winifred Jane Costley

Winifred Jane Costley, age 87, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at JFK Hospital in Edison. She was born and raised in East Orange, NJ and was a long time Plainfield resident. Prior to her retirement she was a payroll clerk for Verizon in Newark. Winifred enjoyed traveling all over the world with her husband, Stanley E. Costley. She was a faithful member of the Ebenezer AME Church in Rahway. Mrs. Costley is predeceased by her husband, Stanley Costley who passed away on January 1, 2016. Surviving are her children, Eric S. McClary Sr., John McClary, (Harriet), Nancy C. Jones, (Al), Dorothy DeLoatch, (Jim) step-children Brenda Costley and Georgiana Costley. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 13th from 3 to 5 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Rahway followed by interment at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, NJ.
