Donna and I grew up as next-door neighbors and best friends in Iselin, NJ. When the family decided to move to Watchung, Donna and I were heartbroken. But we stayed in touch until we were almost 20, even though we didn't get to see each other nearly as much as we would have liked. She and I used to play on the monkey bars, and many times I remember her walking on top of the monkey bars! Her knee went out one time while we were riding our bikes in Watchung and her mom came and popped it back in. I loved their dog Buffy! I was in blue velvet with a big hat for her wedding and recently found a picture of that which I think I sent to her. We got back in touch one other time but only briefly. The latest conversations were once we found each other on Facebook, and then we emailed and spoke on the phone once or twice as well. She was a brave soul and a very special part of my childhood. I am glad she is no longer suffering. She fought very bravely and I know she treasured being able to be with her daughters longer than expected.

To Donna's family, although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, God is eager to bring our loved ones back to life (Job 14:13-15). He further promise that all those in the common grave of mankind will be resurrected (John 5:28-29). May these words give you peace and comfort now and in the days ahead. Many lovely memories... She came to me in a dream last Tuesday... She was getting on an airplane and was saying goodby. I thought it was odd to have a dream about Donna after 34 years. I truely loved her.

Donna had a big smile and loved to laugh and dance. I met Donna around 1987. Lindsay and Sarah were in Ms. Barbara's nursery school class together. Donna and I became fast friends. For years we were hanging buddies, sharing holiday parties, dancing trips into Manhattan, so many talks through the years, so many laughs. We watched our beautiful girls grow into amazing women. Sometimes we didn't see each other for a while, sometimes we had bumps in the road, but Donna knew I loved her. She was a gorgeous woman, a thoughtful and caring person. She cared about the planet and she loved to dance. I'll always remember her dancing wildly to hear crazy music. We had a few good visits last year. I'll miss Donna very much and I'll never forget her. We were long time friends. Good bye Donna. See you on the other side. Love you Always, Roseanna

I will always remember Donna and her great big smile...I admired her and her beliefs. She fought so hard! We went for a 2 mile walk behind her house just a month before she passed and I'm so glad I have that memory! What a trooper! I used to babysit for Donna, and her kids are just as special! She was always so generous! Donna,I hope you are at peace now in a beautiful place! God Bless and I'll miss you.

I am so sorry. I am so grateful that I got a chance to know her and love her. I will cherish our intimate woman moments we had. 10 years ago we were going through some of the same things. Having her to share with helped me greatly. Then she came to me and asked me to train her in the gym. What a special privilege that was. l will hold precious thoughts of her knowing she is in a much better place. To know her is to know sweetness. I send my love and light to the family. My heart will hold prayers of healing for you.Donna I love u. See u again on the other side.

My son Jamie and I only knew you for a very short while while at the clinic in Spain. You were always full of smiles, even though you were going through your pain. You put a smile on our faces and filled us with hope. Thank you Donna. I will always remember you smiling and making us laugh. May you be blessed with peace in Eternity. XX

Oh how sad it mad me tonight when I heard about Donna's passing. Donna worked at our store in Warren and Berkeley Heights. She was an asset to our business...very knowledgeable and well liked among the customers. I had many happy times working with Donna and feel blessed to have lived this life with her.
Donna, look forward to seeing you again someday!

Will remember our talks, second hand shops, the movies, the emails, basking in the sun by the pool, mostly I will remember the passion you put into fighting this battle. We have lost you but heaven gained an angel. Hugs and Love, Nancy Rocco

I wish I had understood just how many levels of cool Donna was when I was a little girl. I just thought she was too pretty to be a mom. I remember finding out she was a DJ and thinking, "Oh my god. I want to be a DJ. I love her ponytail." As an adult reading about the other aspects of her life, I have a newfound respect for her and the things she stood for. I know her girls will continue to care for the earth and share their knowledge and skills with their communities just as Donna did.
