Obituary of Edward H. Gilbert

A memorial service for Edward H. (Bud) Gilbert age 89, of Warren will be held on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ. Mr. Gilbert died on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Gibert was employed by Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill in the Polymer Research Division retiring in 1986. Following his retirement Mr. Gilbert was subsequently employed at the U.S. Golf Association Research and Testing Center in Liberty Corner until his retirement in 1991. A Navy Veteran of World War II, Mr. Gilbert was a member of the Washington Valley Volunteer Fire Company of Warren and a volunteer with the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited, Trout Unlimited and the National Rifle Association. Mr. Gilbert was predeceased by his 1st wife Mary (Middleton) Gilbert in 1997 and his 2nd wife Ruth L. (Skove) Gilbert in 2015 and his brother Alan Saunders. He is survived by his daughter Sara Jane Gilbert and two grandsons. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either Ducks Unlimited, Inc. - One Waterfowl Way - Memphis – TN or the National Rifle Association would be most appreciated.
