Obituary of Raymond Powell

Raymond Powell of Plainfield entered Eternal rest at age 58 on Wednesday April 13th 2016 at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark NJ. Born in Lawrenceville Virginia, Mr. Powell lived there until he completed Southside Community College in Alberta VA. He then joined the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Japan for many years. Mr. Powell worked as a customer service support Tech at Sears in Watchung NJ and AB Guber & Co. in Elizabeth NJ and most recent he loved working at CES /Fuji in Edison NJ. Mr. Powell love being active playing football basketball and tennis and also like watching hockey Mr. Powell was predeceased by his mother Carrie Elizabeth Roane and his brother Ernie Roane. Mr. Powell is survived by his father, James Roane of Plainfield New Jersey, one Sister Rena Roane of Plainfield, five brothers, Randy Roane, Robert Roane, Mark Roane and Ozell Roane all of Plainfield and Matthew Roane of East Orange NJ. A niece Shaquera Roane of Plainfield ,an aunt Geraldine Powell Gee and Uncle Langston Powell both of Lawrenceville Virginia, Godmother Irene McDaniel of Plainfield, God children Reeva and Keller of Boston and Baltimore, and Amanda and Ryan of Metuchen NJ. And a Dear friend Claudia Grant of Metuchen and A Host of Relatives and Friends. Visitation will be on Monday, April 18th from 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 19th at 11:00 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
