Obituary of Adele C. Bjerg

Adele C. (Pineiro) Bjerg, age 90, passed away on June 6, 2016, after a brief illness. She was residing at the Spring Meadows Assisted Living in Summit. Born in Bronx, NY she had resided in New Providence for many years before moving to Gillette twenty years ago. Prior to retiring, Adele worked in accounts payable at Foster Wheeler in Annandale for many years. She was a parishoner of St. Vincent dePaul RC Church in Stirling. Adele enjoyed many good times with the New Providence Senior Citizens, and Friends of the Great Swamp. She was an avid reader, and loved the many lively "book club" discussions that ensued with her group in Berkely Heights. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing scrabble and vacationing on Cape Cod. Adele loved spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, and extended family and friends. Adele was predeceased by her husband Charles in 1999. Survived by her daughter Karen Franchini and her husband Anthony; her grandchildren Michael, Richard and Christina Franchini; her sisters Jenny, Gloria and Penny, and her niece Elizabeth. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2016, from 3-6 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent dePaul RC Church in Stirling.
