Obituary of Michael Lawrence Maresca

Warren: Michael Lawrence Maresca, age 79, died on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at his home in Warren. He was born and raised in Jersey City and had lived in Warren since 1972. Mr. Maresca served in the United States Army. He received his Bachelor's degree from the Newark College of Engineering. He was a Civil Engineer for Mohawk Construction and most recently for Underground Utilities in Linden. Mr. Maresca was a Communicant of Our Lady of the Mount Church. He also belonged to the Deutscher Club in Clark, NJ. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading newspapers and taking Italian classes. Surviving are his loving wife Ursula Schwarz Maresca; his sons Michael Maresca and his wife Adreana and Christopher Maresca. His brothers Vincent Maresca, Gerald Maresca and his wife Louise and Anthony Maresca and his wife Kathryn. Also surviving are his grandchildren Nikko and Sebastien. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 12th from 3 to 7 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral services will begin on Monday at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 am Mass of the Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Rahway. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Helen's Helping Hands and Hearts, 1600 Rahway Ave., Westfield, NJ 07090.
