I knew Mike at the Prep from '65 - '68. He was a great guy - I had no idea that he would go on to be a musician, too! I am looking forward to seeing him at the Right Hand of the Lord someday!

Dear Sharon, We are so sorry about Mike; he was such a wonderful man. I remember him asking me in and making me coffee when the weather was cold and I was waiting out in the car for the girls...so thoughtful. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you; we share your sadness, and we are shocked at the passing of Michael. He was a picture of health, always with a smile on his face. It's hard to believe that he no longer is with us. The love I have for Michael started when we were little boys in our hometown in Italy, and that love will always be there. We all have so many fond memories of our time together, especially the memories I have when we were little boys in Italy growing up. Memories are all that remain now; so hold them dearly, and have faith that he now is in a better place.
Sending our love and peace,
Fred and Nella

I did not know Mike as long as some of his life long friends but he sure touched me like I knew him forever. What a great man Mike was.
I did the Office Cleaning at Zeta for the last 6 years plus. He always treated me like more than his janitor. He treated me with respect & always took the time to ask me about my family when we would talk. I loved my visits around Christmas because I could take the time to speak with Mike, Theresa & Frank at length. Mike would go on & on about his love for his family & how blessed his life was. He would also gripe about how things are changing in this world, sometimes for the not so good. Mike was a truly an "Old School" Guy. The kind we will all miss.God Bless You Mike, Please give your Bro Frank a hug for me.
My Thoughts & Prayers are especially with Theresa, Sharon & Joe.

So sorry to hear about Mike's passing. I was one of his classmates from Seton Hall Prep. We were biology lab partners in soph year. Great guy. Always had a smile on his face. Always impeccably dressed. We lost touch after high school but I ran into him at one of the reunions and then we kept in touch with Christmas cards just once a year. My prayers are with his family. He's now at home with his mom and dad.

We first met playing in the Seton Hall Prep marching band (all sixteen of us…at most, including Izzo and Cordasco). We tolerated being screamed at by Mr. Robertshaw…”son!”. We paid him back by spraying lighter fluid in the hallway so that when he flicked his cigarette out of the classroom within the Big Gym a huge flame would quickly arise and disperse.
Then we met again at Joey Mongiovi’s house at the end of Boylan Street, Newark, the pool on South Orange Avenue and Boylan Street having been my summer respite as a Newark-raised boy. We formed an eight-piece band called Factory and played some amazing music, and gigs. One of my favorites was when we opened at the South Mountain Arena for the Allman Brothers, Edgar Winters’ White Trash and Buddy Miles.
Next came the three of us, Joey, you and I backing up the doo wop group the Duprees. We practiced off musical charts in the back of Joey’s van up at the Highlawn Pavilion property at night, in the wintry cold, to play our first gig with them which was the MDA telethon live on Channel 9 the next day. We played every unique “establishment” , including the bar Crocitos in Staten Island where we shared a dressing room with a stripper.
Great memories, my old friend, band mate and fellow horn section member.
Thank you for the rides on the water sleds and your boat in Barnegat Bay. Thank you for being Mikey.
Inviamo queste parole con profonda commozione, profondo dolore…
