Obituary of Monica M. Killeya

Monica M. Killeya, age 85, died on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at her daughter's home in Whitehouse Station. She was born in Manchester, England and had lived in Canada, Egypt, Easton, PA and Plainfield before moving to Watchung over 30 years ago. Mrs. Killeya was an active member of the Transatlantic Brides and Parents Association, an England based organization to help G.I. brides and their families. She also belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Watchung Hills Elks # 2252 in Warren. Prior to her retirement, she was a book keeper for Tumi Luggage in South Plainfield and Da Mile Bag in Plainfield. Mrs. Killeya is predeceased by her son, Timothy Wayne Killeya in 1973. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Mike Killeya; her son, Christopher Mark Killeya and his wife, Carol of Ohio; her daughter, Deborah Quinn and her husband, William of Whitehouse Station, NJ and her grandchildren, Melissa and her husband, Jeff, Kimberly, Emily, Christopher, Erin, Patrick, Sean and Kelly. Also surviving is her sister, Audrey Bendle of Lancaster, England. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 30th at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by cremation at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. Visitation will be on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
