Obituary of Martina H. Palmer

Pittstown: Martina Palmer, age 51, passed away peacefully on Friday July 22, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Hassfurt Germany, Martina had resided in Colonia and Sayreville for 26 years before recently moving to Pittstown. Martina had worked as an office manager in her family business, Schmalz European Provisions in Springfield since she was 18 years old. She had a fondness for the outdoors; enjoyed gardening and spending time on her farm with her horses. Martina had also liked to travel especially to Europe, but most of all she loved cooking and spending time with her loving family. She is survived by her long time loving companion Christopher Cirillo of Pittstown, her children Marissa and Arthur E. Palmer, her parents Otto and Amanda Schmalz; a brother John Schmalz and his wife Holly. She is also survived by three nieces Sara, Amanda and Holly and a nephew Jason. A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday July 26, 2016 at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 am at the funeral home on Wednesday followed by a 10:30 am Mass of the Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel in Warren. The interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield
