Obituary of Irene Marie Liebeck
Irene Marie Liebeck Choir member at Episcopal church in Ewing, 70 Irene Marie Liebeck, 70, a kind-hearted friend to many, passed away on Thursday after a long illness. She spent her final days surrounded by friends and family, and cared for by the staff at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison, N.J.
There was a memorial gathering at 9 a.m. on Monday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 1620 Prospect St., Ewing, N.J., 08638, followed at 10 a.m. by a Funeral Mass. Irene was born Irene Marie Gearino on Dec. 26, 1945, in Plainfield, N.J., and attended Catholic schools there. She earned a bachelor's degree at Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J. Irene had a talent for knitting and crocheting, and enjoyed sharing this gift with others. She was a gracious host and took pleasure in cooking. She was proud of her Irish and Italian heritage.
Irene is survived by sister-in-law, Maureen Gearino; nephews, Dan, Jon, and Adam; and by half-sister, Penny McMillan, and by many other friends and family. She was preceded in death by husband, John Liebeck, in 1998; mother, Marie (Henry) Gearino; father Louis Gearino Sr.; brother, Walter Gearino, and half-siblings, George, Louis, and Richard. She attended Catholic churches for much of her life, and later was an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Ewing, and sang in the church's choir.
