Obituary of Nancy Ferri
Nancy Ferri, age 94, died on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Runnell's Specialized Hospital in Berkeley Heights. She was born in New York City and had resided in North Plainfield, Plainfield and Summit before moving to Berkeley Heights 6 years ago.
She was employed at the Bakelite Corporation and then Union Carbide where she retired as an Executive Secretary in the late 1960's.
She was a Communicant of St. Teresa's Church in Summit and a member of the choir.
Music was her life. She and her sister were known as the Ferri Sisters. They sang on the radio and entertained the troops during World War II.
She is predeceased by her brother, Emanuel Ferri in 2011.
Surviving are her brothers, Raymond Ferri of Medford, NJ and Romolo Ferri of NYC; her sister, Susan McGrath of Berkeley Heights and many adoring nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, December 10th at 9:15 a.m at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:45 a.m. funeral Mass at St. teresa's Church in Summit. Cremation is private. Visitation is on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
