In April of 1969 Dr Eugene Salvati saved my life. My newborn daughter was 3 weeks old. I’d suffered the consequences of what Dr Salvati diagnosed as Meckel’s Diverticulum.
Under his care I was confident all would be well. God bless him and Dr Robert Ruben his partner.

Today, October 2, 2021, and we’re watching football West Virginia (!) and reminiscing over Gene. My father, Sydney S Pearl, MD, from Elizabeth, absolutely adored Gene, and so did we all! We’ll always remember him with affection and fondness.

Gene was one of the most esteemed physicians ever to practice within the walls of Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, where it was my distinct privilege to work with him for 22 years. He distinguished himself on every level and was genuinely beloved by all with whom he came in contact. Literally tens of thousands of people live better lives because of Gene. May his family be comforted by knowing how many continue to appreciate and revere him.

As a patient of Dr. Salvati from 1980 until he retired I am extremely saddened by his passing and send my prayers to him and my condolences and prayers to his family.
I have always considered Dr. Salvati to be the man who gave me my life back after a diagnosis of acute Crohn's disease during my senior year in college. It was always comforting to have him by my side and directing my care as I struggled through the next year and a half of illness. Finally, I took his advice and he performed the intestinal surgery that got the disease under control and allowed me to get up and out and resume living a full life. He continued to oversee my care through my maintenance until he retired. I continue to be treated by his successors, the doctors who he taught.
Ever since my diagnosis, I have considered myself to be truly luck to have him providing my care. I have come to know him as a friend as well.
Again, my thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Salvati and his family.
God bless.

To the Family of Eugene Salvati
Please accept my sincere condolences. He has given so much of his life to serve others,It seems so senseless that there is no future for Eugene. I have taken comfort knowing that God . . . will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain.”—Revelation 21:3, 4 The Bible, however, holds out a much different hope. God, who started mankind off in a lovely garden, has promised to restore Paradise on this earth under the rule of His heavenly Kingdom in the hands of the now glorified Jesus Christ. ( Matthew 6:10; “ Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth” ) In that restored Paradise, the human family will have the prospect of enjoying life without end, free from all sickness and disease
Sincerely,
Roberta

Although it has been many years I have fond memories of your Dad, particularly his great sense of humor and enjoyment of pizza, wine making and family. His great spirit lives on in the stories people share of how he touched their lives and most importantly his family.
With caring thoughts as you remember your Dad, my condolences.

Good Afternoon,
I wanted to send my heartfelt condolences to all of Dr. Salvati's family. I had the pleasure of knowing and seeing him each day when he came into the Bridgewater YMCA to swim for the past 7 year.
He was a wonderful man, so pleasant, happy, and friendly and we all looked forward to him coming in and talking with him, especially at this time of the year when he would tell us about gathering with family for Thanksgiving and Christmas and we would always ask if he was making his famous stuffing -- the recipe sounded delicious!!. We missed him over the summers when he went to the Cape and for the few months in the beginning of each year when he went to Florida but we always picked right back up where he left off when he returned.
He has many, many friends here, staff and members alike, and we loved him! We will all miss him but will remember the good times with him and they will keep us smiling.
May he rest in peace and wishing you all comfort at this difficult time.
God Bless,
Barbara Adam
