To the Family of Carol Lackland
Please accept my sincere condolences. I have taken comfort knowing that God . . . will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain.”—Revelation 21:3, 4 The Bible, however, holds out a much different hope. God, who started mankind off in a lovely garden, has promised to restore Paradise on this earth under the rule of His heavenly Kingdom in the hands of the now glorified Jesus Christ. ( Matthew 6:10; “ Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth” ) In that restored Paradise, the human family will have the prospect of enjoying life without end, free from all sickness and disease
Sincerely,
Roberta

Carol was a true hero to me - always handling things with such dignity and grace. I will be eternally grateful for her generosity and for always treating me like family. I will miss you, but take comfort in knowing that you are now with Dave.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Mrs. Lackland. Losing a loved one in death is so hard especially when it's a loving mother. I wanted to share with you a scripture that helped me when I loss my mom. (Psalms 55:22) I pray it brings you comfort.

"Aunt" Carol was like my second mother to me, growing up next door on Brook Drive in Watchung. We had some amazing family traditions, including spending every Christmas Eve at the Lackland's house, and every July 4th weekend at their beautiful home in Long Beach Island. "Chicken delight" parties around their pool were also loads of fun!
I was lucky enough to spend a few summers living with the Lacklands in Long Beach Island, both at the Fairview Avenue house, and of course, their custom built house in Loveladies. Such fond memories as they were building the new home, including sleeping on mattresses on the floor with the kids before the new furniture arrived!
We were truly blessed to live our lives tied together so closely to the Lackland family.
David and Jennifer, while my heart goes out to you both, and to your entire extended family, know that your parents kindness and generosity touched so many lives, and will be remembered forever.
Aunt Carol, rest in peace. I will miss you.
xoxo

Such fond memories of growing up next to the Lackland family. From washing Dave's Buick to the wonderful family BBQ's at the home of Bobby Thompson down the shore. Carol and Dave really were my Aunt and Uncle. The legacy they left behind with the Lackland Center at Centenary College will serve generations and is something their children can take pride in. May Her Memory Be Eternal.....
