Obituary of Sonja Mae Eisenberg
Sonja M. Kellberg Eisenberg, 88, passed on to her heavenly home on February 2, 2017. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, raised in Plainfield, NJ and lived in Santa Monica and Canoga Park, CA; Herlev, Denmark; North Plainfield, NJ; Caton and Painted Post, NY, before returning to the Plainfield area in 2004.
Sonja was a graduate of Plainfield High School and Parsons School of Design in New York City. She was a member of the Art Students League of New York. Over the years she was employed by various libraries as a staff artist and clerical assistant, as well as, at AT&T, Vogue Pattern Company, House & Garden Magazine, Boin Arts & Crafts and Weichert Realty.
She was very artistic and creative. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. She had a sensitive and caring spirit and was concerned for others. She loved animals and the out-of-doors. She was a devoted mother. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren.
Sonja is pre-deceased by her parents, Adolph and Pauline Kellberg, her sister Jane Dannehower and brother Howard Kellberg. She is survived by her daughter Michele and husband Keith, son Jeremy and wife Jen, grandsons Brandon and wife Kara, and Joshua, and granddaughter, Lila, as well as, brother Myron and wife Diane and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Higgins Home for Funerals.
