Obituary of Sr. Linda Chebro, R.S.M.

Sister Linda Chebro, Sister of Mercy Sister Linda Chebro, 64 died suddenly on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Mount Saint Mary in Watchung, NJ. Sister Linda was born in Bridgeport, CT. She spent her younger years in Derby, CT where she received her early education. Sister Linda graduated from Central Connecticut State College with a degree in Elementary Education. Entering the Sisters of Mercy in 1978, Sister Linda taught in several schools in the Metuchen and Trenton Dioceses; Holy Family Academy, Bound Brook, St Elizabeth School, Bernardsville, Sacred Heart School, South Plainfield and St Mary School, South Amboy. Sister Linda had a great desire to meet and be of service to others. She found herself seeking several ministries where she could best accomplish these goals. She was a Clinical Assistant in Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas for many years. Returning to New Jersey Sister Linda continued to meet the needs of others. Linda lived each day the motto she chose as a Sister of Mercy "Lord of My Heart, Teach Me Your Gentle Ways" Sister Linda is survived by her parents George and Marie Chebro of Derby, CT, her three brothers; Thomas Chebro, his wife Pat of Georgia, MichaelChebro, his wife Carol of CT and Robert Chebro of CT. Visitation will take place at Mount Saint Mary,1645 Highway 22 Watchung, NJ Friday, February 24, 2017. Wake: 9:30 to 11:00 am Welcome Home: 10:00 am Mass: 11:00 am.
