Obituary of George E. Green

George E. Green, age 86, died on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville. Born in Dunellen, he had resided in Middlesex before moving to Bridgewater over 53 years ago. Prior to retiring George worked for Union Carbide in Bound Brook for many years. Most recently he had worked for Houdaille at Chimney Rock Quarry in Bridgewater as a transit mix driver. George was a veteran who served in the Navy. He was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville. George loved taking his wife, spending the cold months at Disney World and summers camping in PA. He will be missed by all. Predeceased by his son Kenneth Green in 2014, a granddaughter Samantha Roper and a brother Bobby Green Survived by his loving wife of 65 years Charlotte Green; daughters Kathleen A. Wallace and her husband Stephen; Maureen Roper and her husband David; grandchildren Jayson Wallace and his wife Jeanine; Melissa Wallace-Castro and her husband Jeffry; Janelle and Brianna Roper; great-grandchildren Gavin and Lucas Wallace-Castro; Logan and Christopher Wallace. He is also survived by two nephews Robbie and Glenn and a niece Lynn. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 11:30-12:30 p.m. at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ, followed by a graveside entombment at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery, Watchung. Donations in his name can be made to Alzheimer's Association or Blessed Sacrament Church, Martinsville.
