Obituary of Robert E. Nehring

Watchung: Robert E. Nehring, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at his home in Watchung. Born in Elizabeth he resided in Linden, Connecticut and New Providence before moving to Watchung 38 years ago. He recieved a Bachelor's Degree in marketing from Fairliegh Dickinson University in Madison Prior to his retirement in 1992 Robert worked for Thomas and Betts in Elizabeth as the Director of Credit for over 40 years. He later worked as a real estate agent for Bob Rose Realty in Watchung. Robert was a proud Veteran of the Korean War having enlisted in the Marines and served for three years as a Infantry Sergant. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Stony Hill Church, Watchung serving as an Usher. Robert enjoyed playing golf in his spare time. Predeceased by his 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years Dolores (Wojciechowski) Nehring, and many nieces and nephews throughout the country. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 2-5 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Reurrection at St. Mary's Stony Hill Church, Watchung. Cremation will be held at Somerset Hills Memorial Park.
