Obituary of Sr. Marie LaSalle Mullen

Sister Marie LaSalle Mullen, Sister of Mercy. Sister Marie LaSalle, 88 died peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at McAuley Hall Health Care Center in Watchung, NJ. Sister Marie LaSalle, the former Katherine Mullen, was born in Trenton, NJ and attended St Mary Grammar School and Cathedral High School. After graduation, she worked in the Diocese of Trenton Chancery Office for the Propagation of the Faith and then in the business office of Cathedral Grammar and High School. She entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1950 and later received a BS degree in Business Administration from Georgian Court College, Lakewood, NJ. Her teaching career brought her to Mount Saint Mary Academy, Watchung, NJ and St. Mary High School, Perth Amboy, NJ where she also served as Assistant Principal. In 1970 she returned to Mount Saint Mary, Watchung where she joined the staff in the Finance Office for six years. Her last assignment was working in the finance office at McAuley Hall Health Care Center in Watchung. Sister Marie LaSalle attributed her love for finance and business administration to her mother who was an accountant. Teaching and working in this area brought her great satisfaction and was likewise greatly appreciated by her students and co-workers. She is survived by her dearly loved niece, Kim Keosian (David), her grandnephew, Christopher Keosian of Salisbury, MD, sister-in-law, Doris Terrett and many Sisters of Mercy in the Mid-Atlantic Community. She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Carl Mullen and brother, Carl Joseph Mullen from Trenton. Visitation will take place at McAuley Hall Health Care Center 1633 Highway 22 Watchung, NJ on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Wake from 9:00 to 11:00 am, with the Welcome Home Service at 9:45 am; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
