Obituary of Catherine Cambria

CATHERINE CAMBRIA, 99.

Catherine (Caccamo) Cambria, 99, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2017.

Catherine was born in New York City and lived in Roselle for more than half of her life.  She married Anthony Cambria in 1946 and she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was also an active communicant of St. Joseph the Carpenter Church in Roselle.  At the time of her death, Catherine was residing at the Sunrise Senior Living facility in Basking Ridge, NJ.

Catherine was pre-deceased by Anthony, her husband of 46 years, and her two daughters-in-law, Beverly Cambria and Barbara Cambria.  She is survived by her four sons – William Cambria of Westfield; John Cambria and Dr. Deborah Capko of Green Brook; Dr. Richard and  Mrs. Christine Cambria of Milton, MA; and Dr. Robert and Mrs. Emily Cambria of Dedham, ME.  She had twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren (and was looking forward to the birth of her eighth great-grandchild later this year).  She is also survived by her sister, Mary Viglianti, of Westfield, as well as six nephews and two nieces.  

Arrangements have been made through the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, New Jersey.  Visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 5, 4:00 – 7:00 PM.  Funeral Mass will be at St. Joseph the Carpenter Church, Roselle, on Thursday, July 6, 10:00 AM, followed by interment at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.
