Obituary of Mitchell Silverman

Fanwood: Mitchell Silverman, age 62, passed away on July 4, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway.  He was born and resided in Brooklyn, NY until he was 30 and lived in Fanwood for the last 27 years. He was active in the community and touched the lives of many through philanthropy, social action and friendship.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Brooklyn College.

Prior to his retirement in 2017, he was a manager for S&S Manufacturing in Edison.

Mitchell was a kind, clever, generous and fun loving man who was greatly loved by his family and a joy to be around.  Mitchell loved the beach, golf and traveling especially to Duck, NC in the Outer Banks. He was also passionate about sports with the Mets being his favorite team.  Mitchell loved to take his sons to sporting events all over the country.

Surviving are his wife, Miriam Heiman Silverman; his sons, Evan and Adam; his father, Marcus Silverman; his brother, Steven; his sister, Victoria and 3 nephews and 1 niece.

Services will be held on July 5, 2017 at 11:00 at Temple Sholom, 1925 Lake Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ.
