Obituary of John MacDonald

John MacDonald Green Brook: John MacDonald, age 66, died on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. He was born and raised in Jersey City and was a lifelong resident until moving to Green Brook five years ago to be with his grandchildren. Mr. MacDonald was a retired Jersey City Police Officer. He was a member of the Emerald Society since 1968. Mr. MacDonald enjoyed golf, fishing and most of all, his family. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Carol MacDonald; his son, Brian MacDonald; his daughter, Jennifer East and her husband, Kevin; his brothers, Joseph MacDonald and Michael MacDonald; his sister, Elizabeth Sullivan, his grandchildren, Brennen and Sean, as well as many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 17th from 1 to 5 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by Committal Prayers at Somerset Hills Memorial Park. Cremation is private.
