Obituary of Andrew P. Gage

Andrew Philip Gage, age 52, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at his home in Watchung, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Dodge City, KS, he grew up in San Clemente di Galluccio, Italy, returned to the U.S. and settled in Summit, NJ before moving to Watchung, NJ in 2008. Andrew was a member of BAC Local 7, having worked as a tile craftsman for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Stony Hill Church in Watchung and was devoted to his Catholic Faith. Andrew's life and center was his family. He also made time to enjoy his first passion, the beautiful sport of soccer. Whether it was rooting from the sidelines or enjoying international matches, there was not a week that went by without soccer in Andrew's life. Predeceased by his father Angelo Gage. Survived by his loving wife of 18 years Caterina (Lazzaro) Gage; his children Angela, Vincent and Catia; his mother Wilma (Comparelli) Gage; his siblings Dolores, Miriam, Bernadette, Thomas and Anna; his mother and father in-law Caterina and Tommaso Lazzaro; his brothers and sisters in-law and many nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 4-9 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Stony Hill Church in Watchung. Entombment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
