Obituary of Isabel Elizabeth Hibbard

Isabel Elizabeth Hibbard, age 95, died on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Peter's Medical Center in New Brunswick. She was born in Plainfield and had lived in South Bound Brook for the past 30 years. She was the lead government inspector at Lockheed Electronics in Watchung for many years until her retirement. Mrs. Hibbard was an organizer and a former member of the South Plainfield Rescue Squad Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed trips to upstate New York to visit her daughter and family, family trips to Atlantic City, bingo and feeding wildlife. Family celebrations and vacations were the most important part of her life. She devoted her life to her family. Mrs. Hibbard is predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Hibbard in 1964; her daughters, Lauretta Barbaglia and Gertrude Lehnert and her son, John Hibbard. She is survived by her daughters, Diana Hibbard and Sharon Viotto and 9 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will begin on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals , 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
