Daniel P Sullivan passed away at the age of 87 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Brooklyn NY, Daniel was a son of the late Margaret Murphy Sullivan and Daniel Joseph Sullivan. He had resided in Plainfield NJ for the past 28 years and previously lived in Fanwood NJ and in the Bronx NY.
He was predeceased by his beloved siblings Dennis J Sullivan, Peggy Sullivan Blust, Clare Sullivan Jones and Eileen Sullivan Bormann. Surviving sibling is his sister, Sr Kathleen Sullivan, of Villa Maria Regina, Brentwood NY.
Daniel's loving family will miss him greatly. They include daughters Margaret T, Elizabeth A .and Claire Sullivan Tucciarone (John) of Warren, NJ. He is also survived by his former wife, Margaret B Sullivan. His grandchildren, Connor A Tucciarone and Brianna M Tucciarone, of Warren NJ, will cherish his memory.
Mr Sullivan proudly served his country in the Korean War as a member of the U S Army. He graduated from St John's University in Long Island, NY. He was employed for many years by Schering Plough Corp and had also worked at Union Carbide, Borden and the NJ Credi t Bureau.
Daniel was a devoted communicant and volunteer at St Mary's Church in Plainfield NJ. He delighted in listening to conservative talk radio. A voracious reader, he enjoyed reading the New York Times and everything else he could. He was uncomplaining and accepting of his illness and grateful for all the help he received. Please pray the Rosary in his memory.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 8th from 2 to 4 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral services will begin on Monday at 10:00 am at the funeral home followed by an 11 am Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church in Plainfield. Interment is private.
