Obituary of Dorothy M. Beyer
Watchung: Dorothy M. Beyer, age 81, died on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge. She was born in Newark and lived in Scotch Plains before moving to Watchung in 1969.
Mrs. Beyer was a homemaker.
She was a member of Wilson Memorial Union Church in Watchung.
Mrs. Beyer was a dedicated and very active volunteer at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey for over twenty years. She was also involved in the leadership of the Watchung Girl Scouts that her daughter, Donna was a member of.
She loved spending time at their home in Point Pleasant, NJ. For 25 years, they traveled every fall on their boat from Point Pleasant to Palm Beach, Florida and back in the spring.
She was always thinking of others bringing a meal or sending a card. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her son-in-law, Lars Anderson.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Howard Beyer; her son, Kenneth Beyer and his wife Cheryl, her son Richard Beyer; her daughter Donna Anderson; her brother Fred Morgner, and her grandchildren, Bill Bard, Elizabeth Bard, Eric Beyer, Kurtis Anderson, Megan Beyer, Paige Anderson, Samantha Bard and Winnie Bard.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 3 to 5 pm at Wilson Memorial Union Church, 7 Valley Road Watchung, NJ 07069 followed immediately by a 5 pm Memorial Service. .
