Obituary of Robert Patrick McNulty

North Plainfield: Robert Patrick McNulty, age 90, died on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the New Jersey Eastern Star Home in Bridgewater. He was born and raised in Plainfield and lived in South Plainfield for ten years before moving to North Plainfield 50 years ago. Prior to his retirement, he was a supervisor for the United States Postal Service. Mr. McNulty served in the United States navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0265 in North Plainfield and was a committee member for the 11th district in North Plainfield. Mr. McNulty was an avid reader, gardener and cook and enjoyed upholstery refinishing, sports, fishing and crabbing. He is predeceased by his son, Michael McNulty. Surviving are his wife, Sonja Jarema McNulty; his son, Robert and his wife Barbara; Daughter-in-Law Arlene McNulty; his sister, Agnes Larson; his granddaughter, Meghan McNulty and her husband Evan Gropper and his great grandson, Bennett Robert Gropper. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 27th from 4 to 8 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral services will begin at 9 am on Saturday at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's RC Church, corner of Jackson and Watchung in North Plainfield. Interment will be at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery in South Bound Brook.
